Huang has come a long way since she arrived in the United States two years ago. When we first met her, she was preparing to have her third baby while her husband was desperately looking for a job. Today, her husband has a wonderful job where he’s well-loved and Huang is able to contribute to the family’s income.
Huang learned how to tat from her mother and worked tirelessly for months developing and perfecting the HCHT jewelry collection. Now, she is teaching other women in the group, generously sharing her wealth of knowledge to lift other women up. The Sunbreak Collection, which she began, is named in honor of Huang and the joy we have seen grow in her as she settles into a new life in Austin.
You can read more about Huang’s story in this blog post.
If you own one of Huang’s products (or simply want to send a message), please feel free to write her a note in the comments below. We will share them with her. Eventually, we’d like every artisan to be able to write you back on her own.
