Hser Ku is one of the veteran members of the group. Hser Ku learned to sew on rice bag tote bags two years ago and has blossomed into a talented seamstress. Her English has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year; she is motivated to keep up with her first-grader’s homework. She is a member of the Karen hill tribe and has two young children.
